Noted! Residents map their neighbourhood’s strengths
South Valour Residents Association (SVRA) board member Teresa adds a sticky note full of comments about traffic to a map of her neighbourhood. Teresa is one of dozens of residents at a community feast and asset mapping exercise adding their voices to what anti-oppressive approaches to safety will look like in the neighbourhood. This is done as part of a critical participatory action research project supervised by Dr. Julie Chamberlain. This event gave residents a chance to not only lend their expertise on the neighbourhood but to collaborate, build relationships with each other, and build momentum to change it.
