In my honours thesis presentation, this photo underscored the importance of explicitly affirming Christian messages. It contrasts churches’ ambiguous claims—such as ‘all are welcome’—that are used to obscure anti-LGBTQ+ policies. This juxtaposition highlights the importance of clear, direct inclusion for 2SLGBTQ+ people navigating church communication.
