2005 Biology Bursary
This Bursary will be awarded to a student in the Department of Biology at The University of Winnipeg who has demonstrated good academic performance and financial need.
Anne Smigel Water Quality & Health Research Fund
To fund scientific research projects by University of Winnipeg faculty, relevant to water quality and health in Manitoba, including that of rivers, lakes, and urban water catchments (reservoirs, retention ponds, and ponds), as well as surrounding watersheds.
Bat Box Project
To help cover the costs of building heated bat boxes used to protect Canadian bats from white-nose syndrome and to support students taking part in the project.
Dr. Charles Code Scholarship in Biology
This Scholarship is provided by the Erica and Arnold Rogers Fund for Academic Excellence. It will be awarded annually to the most promising student entering their final year of the 4-year B.Sc. or 4-year applied B.Sc. program in Biology.
Dr. Edgar Van Nuys Allen Memorial Scholarship in Biology
This Scholarship is provided by the Erica and Arnold Rogers Fund for Academic Excellence. It will be awarded annually to the most promising student entering the Fourth Year of the Honours B.Sc. program in Biology.
Ecology Evolution and Conservation: Prairie Grasslands Field Course and McIntyre Ranch Field Station
To help lower student field course costs and upgrade the field station facilities.
Ecology Evolution and Conservation: The Lingle Lab
Helps cover the extensive costs involved with providing the necessary training and equipment for field experiments, as well as stipends for graduate students.

Donate To This FundJames and Charlotte Dowsett Memorial Scholarships in Biology
These Scholarships have been provided by Harry J. Dowsett of Willowdale, Ontario in memory of his parents, James and Charlotte Dowsett. One Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has completed 60 credit hours or their equivalent and is entering the final year of the Major program in Biology. The other Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has completed 90 credit hours or their equivalent and is entering or continuing in the 4-Year B.Sc. program in Biology. Students will be selected on the basis of academic performance, potential, and financial need.
John Conroy Scholarship in Biology
This Scholarship will be awarded annually to the most promising student entering the final year of the 4-Year Bachelor of Science in Biology at The University of Winnipeg. This Scholarship is established in memory of Dr. John Conroy, Professor of Biology, by his wife Mary, their family, friends and colleagues.
Richard Staniforth – MAPB Undergraduate Prize in Botany
This Prize will be presented to an undergraduate student with significant academic achievement in the study of botany. The Prize was established by his friends and colleagues on the retirement of Dr. Richard Staniforth from The University of Winnipeg and the Manitoba Association of Plant Biologists. It recognizes Dr. Staniforth’s many accomplishments as a teacher and mentor, encouraging students to pursue study in the botanical sciences, his enduring support for and life-long love of learning, and the pursuit of further academic degrees.
