Alice Chambers Forest Enhancement Scholarship
This Scholarship is presented by Manitoba Hydro in honour of Alice Chambers in recognition of her life-long commitment to environmental stewardship and education, and for her valued counsel on the Advisory Committee for the Manitoba Hydro Forest Enhancement Program. It will be awarded annually to a student who has completed Second Year and is continuing in the Forest Ecology stream of the 4-year B.Sc. Environmental Studies major.
Catherine Sosiak Memorial Scholarship
This Scholarship is provided by Evelyn and Leonard Etkin in memory of Catherine Sosiak, ardent environmentalist. The worthy student will be one who has demonstrated devotion to and active participation in Environmental Issues.
Environmental Studies Endowment Scholarship
Established from the estate of Minty Springman, this Scholarship will be awarded to the student in the 4-year Environmental Studies major who has the highest standing entering the Fourth Year.

Donate To This FundLeo Mol Scholarship
Created in honour of Leo Mol, this Scholarship will be awarded to the outstanding student in any year of the Environmental Studies program. This award may not be held in conjunction with the Environmental Studies Scholarship.
MARRC Bursary
This award will recognize a second or third-year student in the Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences. Eligible students will have scored a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in the previous academic year and have demonstrated financial need. Students will be required to submit a short personal statement on how to improve used oil product collection and recycling in Manitoba.
Masters in Environmental and Social Change (MESC)
To Support the growth and success of MESC program and it’s students.
Mooring-Griffioen Memorial Bursary
Two Bursaries, established by endowment in 1986, will be awarded to full-time students who have demonstrated active participation in environmental issues or who are registered in at least 6 credit hours in the Environmental Studies major in the current academic year. Special consideration for one of these awards will be given to visa students from African countries.
Poweshiek Skipperling Research Fund
The funds raised for this project will go towards research and conservation efforts being conducted by The University of Winnipeg and the Nature Conservancy of Canada in efforts to save the poweshiek skipperling from going extinct.
Prize in Environmental Studies
This Prize is to be awarded to a student who plans to pursue further work in water quality and aquatic ecosystems.
The Amy Gilbert Memorial Award
This Award has been established by the friends and family of Amy Gilbert and honours her passion for the environment and social justice. Amy had decided to pursue a degree in naturopathy, and it was her dream to see medical doctors and naturopathic doctors working together to help others reach diagnosis and treatment sooner. This Award will be given to a student at The University of Winnipeg in any major within the Faculty of Science, with the intent of pursing studies in naturopathy. If such a candidate cannot be found, it will be awarded to a Second or Third Year student majoring in Environmental Studies and Sciences, who has completed course work, done research or has an interest in the Environmental Lakes Area. Amy’s passionate nature shone through in all she did especially in her love for the environment and environmental awareness. The Experimental Lakes Area (ELA) was one of Amy’s favourite places; she referred to it as her “heaven on earth”. Amy was driven in her desire to see ELA’s invaluable environmental work and studies continue, not just for Canada but also globally. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need.
The Bryce Lawrence Bursary in Environmental Studies
This Bursary has been established in memory of Bryce Lawrence by the Winnipeg Game and Fish Association, an organization that pioneered the concepts and pursuits of wildlife conservation in Manitoba. Mr. Lawrence devoted countless hours over many years to pursuing his personal commitment to the preservation and enhancement of our wildlife heritage. The Bursary will be awarded to a deserving person studying Environmental Studies at The University of Winnipeg.
