Carole Watson Memorial Bursary
This Bursary will be awarded to a student who is in financial need and who is entering the Final year of the Major or Honours program in Psychology. Preference will be given to a student planning to do graduate studies and who has participated in extra-curricular activities in The University or community.
Dr. A.R. Cragg Scholarship in Psychology
Established by the late Miss Edna Cragg in memory of her brother, the Rev. Albert Russell Cragg, M.A., D.D., former head of the Department of Psychology at The University of Winnipeg. At the discretion of the Psychology Department, the scholarships will be awarded to a student with a high standing in Psychology in First and Second year who is entering the Third year of the Major curriculum, to a student with a high standing in Psychology in the First year who is entering the Second year of the Major curriculum, or to a student with a high standing in Psychology in First and Second years, who is enrolled in the Honours program.
Dr. C.J. Robson Scholarship in Psychology
The Alumni Association of the University has established this scholarship with The Winnipeg Foundation to commemorate the life and work of Dr. C.J. Robson, who served as head of the Department of Psychology from 1954 until 1969. The scholarship will be awarded on the recommendation of the Department to a student with high standing in the Major or Honours program in Psychology who is entering the Third or Fourth year.

Donate To This FundDr. John and Elizabeth Coté Award for Honours Methodology
This Award will be presented annually to the student in the Department of Psychology with the highest standing in Honours Methodology. The Award is established by Mrs. Elizabeth Coté in memory of her late husband Dr. John Coté with the assistance of Dr. Hinton Bradbury, Department of Psychology. Dr. John Coté was a professor of Psychology at The University of Winnipeg from 1962 until his retirement in 1989. Dr. Coté’s special place in the curriculum was teaching the advanced methods course, Psych 4100, and encouraging the most promising students to pursue a career in Psychology.
Ed Allen Bursary in Psychology
Established by his wife, Karen Fletcher, and his colleagues at The University of Winnipeg, this Bursary celebrates the life of George Edward Allen (1943-2002), his extraordinary dedication for over thirty years as a gifted and compassionate professor of Psychology, his commitment to the highest humanistic ideals, and his devotion to helping students discover their full potential, both professionally and personally. It will be awarded to a student with satisfactory academic progress who has completed at least 30 credit hours and is majoring in Psychology in any degree program. Preference may be given to a student who is a single parent.
Future Fund – Psychology
The Future Fund will provide the Psychology department with flexible and critical resources required to address the immediate academic priorities (area of greatest need) of today while building a secure foundation for the future. The purpose of the fund is to strengthen and support the academic mission and vision of the University by supporting the academic units, innovation and community. The flexibility of the fund will build on existing efforts; create new opportunities and open doors to innovative academic development as strategically identified by the Chair of the Department. More specifically, the fund will support activities such as faculty research, academic enhancements and development, innovative programming, chairs, professorships, facilities and infrastructure upgrades and technology, supporting students and faculty experiences gained through competitions, case studies, exchanges, conferences, faculty and staff recruitment, etc. The Future Fund will include undesignated and designated funds (if designated by a donor) that will enable the Chair the opportunity to allocate and assign funding to address strategic priorities and critical needs.
Hinton Bradbury Memorial Scholarship in Psychology
This scholarship is in honour of Dr. Hinton Bradbury, who was a University of Winnipeg professor in the Department of Psychology from 1974 to 2024, also serving as Department Chair for many years. It will be awarded annually at convocation to the highest-ranked graduating student who has completed an Honours BA in Psychology, and who has been accepted to a research-based graduate program in psychology at the University of Winnipeg. To be considered, students must be nominated by at least one faculty member who can attest to their achievements and campus involvement as an undergraduate. Candidates must confirm admission to graduate studies prior to the June convocation.
Jonatan and Margaret Aisicovich Fund
This fund will support research pursued by the Department of Psychology and shall be administered by Psychology and the Research Office.
Philip Joseph Brickman Memorial Scholarship
This Scholarship is provided by the Erica and Arnold Rogers Fund for Academic Excellence. It will be awarded annually to the most promising student entering their final year of the Psychology Honours program and preferably, but not necessarily, with a demonstrated interest in Social Psychology.
Ron Norton Prize in Psychology
This Prize is awarded in honour of Dr. G. Ronald Norton who taught at The University of Winnipeg from 1968 to 1999, serving as Department Chair from 1986 to 1991. It will be awarded annually to the student with the most outstanding honours thesis in the Psychology Honours Thesis class.
The McIntyre Prize
Established by the Department of Psychology, in recognition of the outstanding contributions of former Dean of Arts and Science, the McIntyre Prize will be awarded to the student giving the best oral presentation in the social sciences at the Annual Prairie Undergraduate Research Conference.
